Matters of Public Concern

Where state authority intersects with the rights and freedoms of New Zealanders.

Justice Watch New Zealand Inc. takes notice of matters that are of public concern where the exercise of state power intersects with protected rights and where evidence suggests that harm to New Zealanders may have resulted.

As a civil society organisation operating within New Zealand's democratic framework, we recognise that the exercise of public power carries legal responsibilities. Where state authority is engaged in ways that affect life, liberty, bodily integrity, property, or dignity, constitutional protections apply.
